Getting back on track

cloudsJoseph Campbell once said:  ”We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us.” When I first started this blog, the purpose was to showcase our talented Canadian authors and to read those great Canadian novels that have become literary classics in our country. I have not done a good job at this to date. I do not have any other excuse but to say that life in general prevented me from giving the attention this blog requires in order for it to be a place some of you want to visit regularly.

The reality is that my life has changed so much in the last six months that I have not been focused on this blog and this goal that I had set for myself:  read 24 CanLit classics in 12 months. I have been concentrating on being happy and healthy. Those goals I have reached thanks to my desire to reach them and support from a special person that has entered my life and changed it as I knew it. I can attest to the fact that when you accept what is put on your path and stop questioning and doubting it, you feel all the positive emotions that have been there waiting for you all this time.

Getting back on track is never easy no matter what part of your life you are trying to fix or regain. The important thing to remember is nobody can do it all but everybody has the capability to finish what they start. On that note, I am going to pledge to read every book in my list, but I cannot promise it will be done within the 12 month deadline I had set. I have other goals I want to reach in the next 12 months such as continue to write my book, run a half marathon, write a blog for iRun Magazine (iRun, iRead:  The Runners’ Book Club) and be happy. So, stay tuned!
